  The section near The Westin is just average with mostly Americans and hotel crowd. Being that it’s on St Maarten, ‘average’ is still better than your average beach at home but it doesn’t compare to many other beaches on the island, especially the ones on the French side. Heard Dawn Beach is better on the north end but we didn’t walk up.

  Very nice beach :) There is a wonderful place for dawn encounter here - direct view to Tintamarre island and Saint Barth

  I wouldn't particularly recommend it, but there's nothing pricy lately wrong with it. Perfectly ok beach with a couple more restaurants around. More waves and seaweed than most of the beaches on the island that I've seen (I've been to at least 7 others). You'll find some snorkelling here too, but again, there's far better on the island (baie rouge, mullet bay).
