  Fun and laid back bar, great parties and a fun place to watch sports. Get to know the bartenders and they will treat you like family. They serve simple snacks and delicious Dutch food, you can't go wrong. There's usually a good mix of locals and visitors, and you're more than likely to meet some new characters and make some new friends when you visit. 👍👍

  There are literally not enough stars to give this place. It's divey and hidden, on the back/side of toppers, and not a beach bar; however, this bar has the most phenomenal staff that I have had the pleasure to encounter throughout a lifetime of travels ( I'm a critic, I've worked in F&B for 10+ years prior to current job). Marty's offers reasonable prices, great local tips/reccomendations, and phenomenal bar food (cheffed up by Peter). I've been to many bars across the globe, but Tom, Gerald, Krista, Peter, and Lilliet (sp?l) have been the most amazing and accommodating staff out of many, many bars that I've been to. There are absolutlely no descriptive words in the English language that can convey how great they have been. They maintain a secure environment, foster interaction amongst locals, expats, and tourist alike, and treat everyone with respect and dignity even if they're a nightly regular or a first-visit tourist (pretty much St. Maarten's version of Cheers). I'm not sure who is in charge of staff recruitment, but they deserve a gold star for finding so many gems ( literally the entire staff). If you're on the Simpson bay strip (or nearby) there is absolutely no way you can afford to skip Marty's!! P.S.: I would be remiss if I didn't mention Jacob and the Green Room. He is a regular here but a bartender at the green room bar/restaurant nearby He is an amazing individual, always keeps thing lively, and a wonderful source of information about Holland, the island here, and having a great time!   Great bar! We spent many nights here listening to Jen Porter playing fun music on their "Soprano's Piano Bar on Tour" stage. The staff is awesome! Tom & Gerald are the crazy fun bartenders!
